Haas TL-1 Profile Problem

Need a spot of help with a Type II G71 on a Haas TL-1 (Haas controller).

I'm working on a chess set and having an issue with the profile for the King where it is chopping off part of the profile in one place and taking an oversized bite in another. The Haas editor shows this in the preview and I thought it may be a display issue, so I cut a test piece. Sure enough, it's not cutting the profile correctly. Here are some pictures of the editor preview and the sample cut. On the preview, the red bit is getting cut off and the blue part is cutting too deep. The deep cut was a non-issue with the plastic sample, but once I go to metals, I'm a bit concerned. I've included the full program after the pictures and hopefully someone with more experience can help me get this figured out.

Mazak SQT 10M manuals or advice

$

Hi everyone,

I am new to the forum but have used it many times in the past for info and guidance. My shop just purchased a used 1993 Mazak SQT 10M and we are working through setting the machine up and have encountered a few alarms that we could use some help with. We have been able to change the machine to 220 to power up and manually entered parameters but have now hit a roadblock. The batteries appear to be working. If anyone has any manuals for these machines that would probably help us out a ton since we didn't get any, specifically the electrical layout or a parameter definition list.
For those without a manual who would be interested in taking a crack at this, the alarms that I am seeing are as follows:

16. Amplifier not equipped (C, , )
218. Chucking type not selected (0, , )
19. Incorrect time constant (4, 4, )
442. Data renewal not allowed (18, , )

We have filled out the paperwork that Mazak requires in order to schedule a tech visit, however this takes atleast a week before I can even schedule a tech to come out so I am trying to get this thing cutting to keep customers happy. I am new to Mazak and lathe in general, but it appears to me that the problem has to do with the C-axis. I can get a very small load rating in the X and Z axis, but literally nothing in the C. It seems as if the lathe doesn't recognize that it has a C axis. Any help would be much appreciated and if more information is needed please ask and I will find it.

Thanks.

Waterjet computer problem

I would like to introduce myself and also ask for some help with a Waterjet computer problem. My name is Todd and I am 44 years old and live in Lexington SC. I am fascinated by cnc machines but am totally ignorant. I have an ingersoll rand hs 1000 Waterjet that I bought for a price that I knew would take a lot of work. Anyway, it has been sitting for a year or two and I decided I want to fix it (or have it fixed). I looked through paperwork when I got it and found that the computer had lost the software. I called the tech at Kmt and he said that he remembered the machine (not good) and that the software was lost; don't really know what that means but probably isn't good. I have the computer with it but it is basically a jigsaw puzzle and a board has been taken out (which I have). Anyway, here are my questions; should I try to fix what I have got (don't know what is wrong with it) or should I retrofit the machine and put new motors, controls, etc. Also is Mach 3 compatible with water jets or not? I haven't been able to find any reference of water jets being compatible with Mach 3 software. Any advice is greatly and I mean greatly appreciated; go easy on me; I am computer illiterate.

Fanuc Diagnostics

This is my first thread so I'm going to start out simple. I have a Shizuoka B3-V (1984) w/Fanuc 6MB controller. It is in good shape. The tool changer didn't work even before I bought it. That wasn't a problem since I would just do a manual tool change. The ATC homes fine. The mill was working fine then it would occasionally not 'cycle start'. The only way to remedy the problem was to shut down and restart the whole machine. Now it will not 'cycle start' at all. I get no alarms. I've checked everything the book tells me, E-stops, Feed hold state, limit switches, interlocks, etc. I have all the manuals so that is a plus. I also have the machine builders handbook which shows pinouts and wiring. I don't have a ladder diagram. Everything works fine. All axis home and jog, spindle runs. All diagnostics seem to be as they should be. It tells me it is not in a feed hold state. I cannot make a move in MDI either.

Here is my simple question: I am not getting a bit change in the diagnostics for the feed hold button or the M01 button. I replaced the feed hold button and that didn't fix it. Should those buttons make a change in the diagnostics? I'm suspecting the I/O board (A20B-0008-0540) at this point . Could the I/O board be the culprit even though the machine thinks it is not in a feed hold state?

I'm sure there will be a lot of questions and I'll have to answer them as we go. Thanks

Matsuura 500 won't zero out.

I have a 1985 vintage Matsuura MC-500V2S vertical mill with a Yasnac MX2 control. I brought this machine out of hibernation after two years and when I attempted to move the the table in the Y axis it traveled in jumps. I checked the brushes on the Y servo motor and found oily sludge instead of the expected carbon dust. We disassembled the servo motor and found oil had entered inside it and had made a mess. Fortunately the tachometer section had stayed nice and clean. After cleaning and reassembly of the servo motor the Y axis of the machine travels smoothly but I can't get the machine to "zero" in the Y axis. All I get is alarm code 202,"overtravel Y". Both other axis's X and Z zero out normally with the indicator lights showing on the control panel. I have checked the limit switches with an ohm meter and they operate normally.
So I'm thinking there must be a software issue that must be reset but I can't find any information on that. Just for the heck of it we switched the X and Y servo boards but the results were the same. Anybody got some ideas?

i have a hurco eqco1 unit cnc milling center. it has had 3 boards installed in it now in the last 3 weeks. servo axis error. now today i just put in all new boards i got from ebay, the last go around they were rebuilt ones. i can't believe all these boards are going bad so something else is causing the issue. it started with z axis and i moved the boards around and i could move the problem so i installed a board in z axis then x axis went and i installed a board in that now y axis. i just put a complete rack i got from ebay in it and it started now i get y axis servo fault. i changed the brushes had to sand them to get them to fit and clip the springs so the caps would go back on. those were the only brushes i could find from the motor repair shop down the road. today i took out the brushes on y axis to verify they were making contact with the commutator and they were. on the servo logic board i get a re ecc light now. the amp boards don't have any error light on. there is not troubleshooting in the books i have for the machine. any ideas that i can look for? thanks
