Mitsu Seiki VM w/ Fanuc 6MB2 Control - RS232 Communication Trouble

Hi all, new member here. Have been lurking for about a week trying to search and read as much as possible to see if i can figure this out myself, and cant.

So we have just moved locations and have bought new to us machinery and I am having difficulty with the RS232 communications. I have made my RS232 cable according to machinetoolhelp.com, and I am able to PUNCH programs from the machine(works with both parameter settings of parameter 341). But when I try and READ or send a program to the machine I keep getting an alarm "085 RS232C". I did some research and found that that is an issue with the communication settings. I have gone through the parameters and changed them to match machinetoolhelp.com with no change. I am using SDNCII as the program on the computer to send my programs to the CNC. And I have a BELKIN USB to Serial (9 Pin) adapter. The adapter is set as "COM 2". I have also tried 1 stop bit and that doesnt help either. As soon as I start to send the program it instantly alarms.

My settings in SDNCII are "COM 2" "7 Data Bits" "Even Parity" "Protocol ASCII" "4800 Baud" "2 stop bits" "XonXoff" "Block delay 0ms".

And the parameters in the CNC WERE
311 - 00011001
340 - 2
341 - 3
TV CHECK 0
Punch Code 1(ISO)
Input Unit 1(inch)
Input Dev 1 = 1(RMT)
Input Dev 2 = 1(RS232C)

I changed the one parameter and still no change
341 - 2

I also have one last question which i think i know the answer too. So i made my cable to go from my computer to the machine. What if I wanted to through a switch box in. I assume my cable from the switch box to the machine does NOT need to swap the RD and SD wires? It can be a straight through cable with the jumpers for RS.CS and DR,CD,ER as the main cable from computer to box has already flipped the send receive wires.

I hope I have given enough Information for help. If there is anything else you need, I can get that to you. I have punched out parameters and have them as txt on my desktop if you need any info form them. Thank you in advance everyone.
