Hello All,
I've come across a number of older smaller machines 5' lathes/milling machines which need new ballscrews. I'm accustomed to running to the manufacturers for ballscrew/ thrust bearing replacement. In these cases the screws for seem to run $2000 to $6000 for these older machines of Japanese origin- much to expensive for customer to replace. I'm accustomed to paying a fraction of that for new replacement, any ideas as where to source or how you go about replacing, regrind, or making new? All ideas are appreciated. many thanks, joseph
